Thermoelectric Generator (TEG)

Special thermoelectric modules can be used to generate power. The temperature difference between the hot side and cold side will produce a respectable DC power source.

Here we have mounted a TEG unit on the under side of an inbuilt log burner to power a circulation fan.  The cross flow fan seen at the bottom of the fire boosts air flow around the back of the log burner and out the top vents to increase heating efficiency.

This generator is producing 20 Watts at 12 Volts DC.
